What is level 3 creosote and how can I get rid of it?
Stage 3 creosote is a hardened, shiny layer of creosote that builds up in a chimney. It's also known as glazed creosote and is the most dangerous and difficult stage of creosote buildup. Stage 3 creosote can soak into the clay liner of your chimney and be virtually impossible to remove.
The new industry standard for removing level 3 creosote is a product called Poultice Creosote Remover (PCR) by Saver Systems. PCR is a proprietary blend of chemicals that leach the level 3 creosote out of the clay flue tile without causing any damage.
